Writing in English at University
This course is for English B1 and B2 students who are interested in learning more effective writing in English. To succeed in this course, you should have at least 1-2 years of experience writing English in a university. You should be able to read and write English well, and be able to find time to improve your English writing skills. This course will teach you how to write effective essays and short papers, and will help you to identify the language used in English in order to achieve your academic goals. You will learn how to use the grammar and vocabulary of everyday English to convey important information, and will practice the language skills needed to complete the tasks in the final project.

In this course you will learn:
English grammar and vocabulary at university level
English writing at university level
English speaking at university level

To successfully complete this course, you will need to access the individualized English skills assessment at the end of the course. You will need to complete the weekly English language assessment, and pass the English language comprehension and writing questions. You will need to communicate well with English-speaking colleagues, and complete the peer communication tasks assigned to you.

We have designed this course to help you gain an in-depth understanding of English language and culture. To begin, we have created short activities through which you can learn vocabulary, grammar, and language skills up-to-date on the latest developments in English in academic and professional contexts.

In addition, we have designed a number of self-study activities which will allow you to practice the language skills needed to succeed at university. These activities are designed to engage you in exploring and reflecting on everyday English language, as well as to give you an opportunity to practice and reflect on your own language development. In completing these self-study activities, you will gain a wealth of skills. You will engage in self-reflections, and you will engage in self-examination. In reflecting on your own language development, you will gain a wealth of knowledge and you will be an active and confident language learner. Writing in English at University allows you to communicate fluently with all audiences – your family, employers, and colleagues. This course is ideal for English B1 students who are interested in language acquisition, job search, interviewing, English as a first language, or English for communication purposes across cultures.
